Around the game board
They're a competitive sort. As boys tend to be.
And they really do love their Mama. As boys tend to do.
And as we play, I can see in them at once the growing boys they are and the sweet babies they were, not so long ago.
Trey has been learning all sorts of grown-up-ish things at school, and praise the Lord, he is very eager to talk them over with me at the end of a day. In a rare good parenting move, we try hard not to judge and overreact, but to listen closely, understand fully, and explain carefully. Which seems to make Trey all the more willing to have those heart-to-hearts. May they never go away.
Aden lost me for a few minutes at church last night and panicked, full blown snurfle cry. When we finally found each other, he hurled himself into my arms and didn't let go for a solid ten minutes. My shoulder wet with alligator tears, I told him I would never leave him and would always look for him, always. The boy needs and loves his Mama, yes he does.
