Bedtime chatter

Some pretty funny things have been coming out of Trey's mouth lately. The following could be overheard at last night's bedtime:

Daddy: Good night, Trey. I love you.

Trey: I love chicken nuggets.

(This has happened many times before, by the way.)

Then Brandon left the room and turned the lights out. Trey and I rocked for a few minutes as we do every night, and I sang our favorite bedtime song, "Bye-oh-bye", a family lullabye carried on from my Meemaw Margaret. As I'm singing, Trey starts talking to himself.

"Time go night-night. Trey, Mama rock rock. Sing song bye-bye-baby. Get in crib. Yes."

A pep talk? A checklist? Too funny.

So I left and went to do some chores in the kitchen. Trey continued to babble, but I couldn't make anything out until he started yelling at the top of his lungs...

"CHI-CKEN NUG-GETS!!"

I promise we're not starving him - he actually ate a pretty big dinner. Anyway, he yelled this for a few minutes and then broke into a rousing, fast-paced version of "Jesus Loves Me" interspersed with "on farm had cow". A few seconds of silence, then another shout:

"Yay Mama! Mama go pee-pee potty!!"

Oh my goodness. I guess he was recounting the day's events, as we get very excited around here whenever anyone uses the potty. He cracks us up.

As...so cute and funny! Ellie does this kind of wind down too, she'll sing almost every song she knows before conning out.

OK, so now we know what YOU do during the day! Just wait till he gets to school, or better yet, CHURCH, and starts telling tales on you and Brandon!!!!!!!

HAHA! This is hilarious! I started babysitting my little cousin officially this past week, and the only way I can have her warm up to get into the car with me is to tell her "we're going to visit Zoe-Doggy", and she gets very excited and even jumps into the car without telling her Mommy goodbye. Monday, she and I went to visit my Granny (her great-granny) for her 84th birthday and she said the WHOLE way there "Go see my Granny. Go see my papa. My granny. My papa." and on and on....... Finally, I decided to instigate a little by saying they're my grandparents, too. She was instantly furious and when we got there, we raced to see who could hug them first. Haha! So much fun!
