A SAHM day
Very unexpectedly, I had to take the day off from work today - Trey's Nana, who usually keeps him on Thursdays was feeling pretty bad and we didn't have time to find a backup. Of course we hate that Nana was sick, but it wasn't a tragedy to have some extra time with my boy.
So I got a taste of being a stay-at-home mom today! This time was made even sweeter as Trey seems to have gotten over his little cold from the last few days. Sad boy is now "appy boy!"

We kept busy today, using our morning to run errands. This included a rare mid-week trip to the grocery store, and we got out of there for only $45 for the week!! Note to self: the checkout lines are just as long on Thursday at 10:30 AM as they are on Saturday.
We also went to our area YMCA to enroll in parent-child swim lessons, which start in a couple of weeks. This is very exciting. I'm really looking forward to it and hoping that Trey will cooperate. As much as he loved being in the lake at my folks' house last summer, not to mention the ocean and pool on vacation, I think he might enjoy it. And I'll feel much better if he knows how to float should he ever fall in the water.
We spent the afternoon at home so Trey could take a long nap. And I got to catch up on some long-overdue organizing. I cleaned out our bill basket, several cabinets, the pantry, and my "junk counter" that was piled high with everything from Easter pageant notes to a couple of rocks Trey had brought inside one day. Organizing is cleansing to the soul.
With Trey feeling better, we tackled the potty again this evening. Being sick caused a slight regression.
I suspect we're probably doing this too early. He sat on that potty for 35 minutes this evening and drank a whole cup of juice. I think he was actually holding it in. He only went just a little bit, and that slipped out during a laugh. As soon as we got up and put his diaper on, it was full within 10 minutes.
Anyway, we'll just see what happens. It's nice to have him sit still for a while. Trey loves stickers, so I got some sticker sheets for him to play with while he sits, and some fancy glittery sports stickers for him to put on the wall as a reward for going. He likes this.

It was a good day. What a blessing it is to be a mom. Thank You, Lord.
