Road trip and today
This past weekend marked Trey's second time out of state, as we enjoyed a road trip to Raleigh for cousin Will's first birthday. Trey was great, given that we stayed around Will's toys most of the time. But it was such a nice party and fun to have some good quality time with our family. Happy birthday Will!

Today has been one of those days. Tuesdays are hard for me anyway - it is one of my days to work from home, so I tend to be pretty much physically and emotionally drained by dinner time. Just with the normal stuff, like work, laundry, and entertaining Trey all at once. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful to God for giving us such a great arrangement for Trey, and that I can be a part-time stay-at-home mom.
But today... Who knows why, but Trey has been pretty fussy all day, not satisfied with many of the things he normally does when we are home.
Apparently I don't know how tall he is. FYI, he can reach up to the kitchen counter. I learned this when he grabbed an open bag of sugar off the edge of the counter and spilled it all over the floor. Luckily it was less than half full. But this whole ordeal ended up thrilling Trey because we got to dapa (vacuum). Fun.
These days the only way I can get the kid to go to sleep is let him have "crib time", with books and his best friends, Doggie and Quackers. He usually plays and sings for around 30 minutes and then goes to sleep.
Well, about 20 minutes into Trey's nap I peeked in on him...and then I smelled it. I faced the choice of waking up my stubborn sleeper and having him even more cross for the rest of the day, or letting him sleep it out, stink and all. I chose the latter, and by the end of his nap I had a terrible headache from the smell. You moms know what I'm talking about: sometimes all the candles in the house can't stand up to #2.
So Trey finally woke up and the scene when I got there was not great. Yet another load of laundry was done, just his clothes and sheet, and Doggie and Quackers got a serious hand-scrubbing. And Trey got a midday bath.
Phew. The rest of the day was comparatively pleasant, as we left right after I finished work for Brandon's basketball game. We always enjoy that, with Trey begging to get on the court and informing us whenever a 2 shows up anywhere on the scoreboard.
So, that was today. On a lighter note, here are a few pictures.
Yeah, not afraid of anything.

And to go out with a bang, yesterday Trey heard his Nana say "oh, me", and since then he has been spouting it off at all times. It's hilarious.
