Seven months

Aden is seven months old today. And sweeter than ever.

As for what's new, Aden has gotten pretty good at picking up (and throwing) toys. He is talkative, shouts baby expletives (DADA!!) when he's angry, and will sometimes sing along with Trey in a rather high key.

We are trying to transition to table food, and while Aden seems to like the taste of most things, different textures confuse him. Jello is especially entertaining. He likes mashed up banana and baked apples. Not a huge fan of mashed potatoes or steamed carrots.

We're going slowly with this, because I can't remember what we gave Trey at this age, and I'm scared to death of Aden choking. Any suggestions?? And when are we supposed to start juice? Hmm. You'd think I would have written this stuff down.

Still working on sitting independently. He can do it, without question. But he gets so excited that he arches his back and shoots backwards. And does this every minute or two, unless he is distracted by something. We'll keep working.

Still rolls around like a champ, but lately when on his belly, he's been pulling his knees up under him and lunging forward on his chest. The kid wants to MOVE!

At least until dinner hour, Aden is probably the happiest little baby you've ever seen. Charms every stranger he meets. Smiles with his whole face.

My apologies to grown-up Aden who may read this years down the road: Little man is ticklish on his man boobs. If I nuzzle my chin against the man boobs, Aden will let out a loud belly laugh. It's intoxicating.

Hair getting darker and thicker. Continues to adore Trey. And chaos. (Those two go together, no?) Loves music and wearing just his diaper. Plays in his crib until he falls asleep for naps and bedtime.

Soaks everything around him during bathtime. Man, it will be nice when he can reliably sit independently in the tub, that way my face won't be rightthere as I'm holding him up while he splashes.

Growing up way too fast.

This man. Is. Precious.

He is precious. And, he is growing up way too fast, in my opinion.

Textures were a big deal for our kids with their foods as well. We stuck with pureed fruits and veggies until 10 or 11 months. If you are asking for finger foods, I'm not so good with those ideas. I have been known to cut their "puffs."
