Baseball, progress, sprinkle, and a bonfire

What a weekend. I don't know if we could have fit anything else in if we tried. But how better could you fill up a weekend than with family, family, friends and family, and more friends??

On Friday night, we went with Brandon's parents to a local minor league park for Trey's first baseball game. He occasionally watched the action, but more preferred the music, scoreboard, middle-inning antics, and the huge cat mascot. Overall he did very well. It was a great, relaxing night.

On Saturday morning, my parents came over to help us overhaul the guest room. Dad and Brandon moved furniture while Mom, Trey and I worked on hanging valances, putting the crib together, and doing some general cleanup.

Oh I feel so much better about things. The nursery looks really cute, but it's not quite done yet. Promise I'll post pictures soon!

Saturday afternoon, my small group/Sunday school girls threw a sprinkle for me, complete with chocolate fountain! We had so much fun together, as always. These ladies are so precious to me.

And look, just behold, only a part of what they did for me. This is a beautiful thing.

Then we all picked up from the sprinkle and headed to Megan & Brady's for a cookout/bonfire. They live on a farm, and Trey had an absolute blast. He pet the cows and sheep, chased the chickens, and even got to see some honeybees hard at work.

The adults had a great time too. We couldn't have asked God for a better group of people to grow in faith and raise our children with. We never ever run out of things to talk about, and it was so great just to get together and relax. Never got around to cornhole, but we did get to feast on some s'mores!

It was a tired and achy Sunday (at least for me), but for very good reason!
