Alright already, he's big

I am 31 weeks along, and went for my 30-week checkup yesterday. They did another ultrasound to check the position of the placenta, which has corrected itself. Good news.

The ultrasound technician puts the scanner on my belly, and there is Baby Dolphin. Here is the conversation:

Technician: Hmm.

Me: What does that mean?

Technician: Do you have a history of big babies?

Me: There was just one before this one. He was big in comparison to me.

Scan, scan, scan...

Technician: Boy, he's got a noggin on him.

Scan, stop, head measurement appears on screen

Me: Right there, where it says 33 weeks 5 days, does that mean his head is measuring at 33 weeks and 5 days?

Technician: Yep! (Giggles)

Nice.

So then I go for my weight and blood pressure check, where the nurse (who was one of my primary nurses during my pregnancy with Trey) greets me with, "Got another big one in there, don't you?"

Then when the doctor comes into the room to see me, her first words are, "You're growing one big baby!"

So he's big. There you go.

The news to come out of this, based on the fact that Trey got stuck in me during his delivery and because this baby is big, is that we will be having a C-section. It has been tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 7. This is something we pretty much expected, but now to have a date makes it very real.

Eight weeks and counting.

Now, if we could just find a name for this kid. It will NOT be Dolphin. Or Blaze, as Brandon is hoping. Don't even get me started.

Yay for the date! Now they'll be almost 2 months apart to the day! Can't wait for your little baby to be here too.

Dolphin Blaze Harris. Beautiful name.

Wow, petite mommy carries some rather large boys, huh?? That's not too fun, but it's kinda neat to know when his birthday will be and you can kind of 'plan' for his arrival!! Great to hear he is doing well!!

:) At every one of my OB checks with Abram (the do an ultrasound every time here) my OB would go on and on about how big his head was. On and on. You'd think they would be a little more sensitive. Wishing you well for the next two months!
