Workin' on my moves

Sorry there are no pictures or video of this. We were just enjoying the moment.

Last night, the three of us were in our basement/living room playing with Trey. It was time for a snack, so I went and got a handful of Cheerios and sat down in the middle of the floor. Trey proceeded to run from one end of the room to the other, back and forth slowing down when he went by me, holding his mouth open to chomp down on a Cheerio in my outstretched fingers. Then back to running.

That in itself was pretty funny, but every once in a while Trey would stop and shuffle his feet to walk sideways. His arms were stretched completely out and he stuck his little bottom out to keep balance. So sweet!

A few times he tried going backwards, very slowly and losing balance when he turned his head to see where he was going. Then once he ran and dove into a pile of pillows, rolled onto the floor and continued rolling across the room.

Oh the energy. Have I mentioned that I love this phase? I know infancy has its moments, though I'm having trouble remembering any right now...just kidding. Smiling, laughing, sitting up, shaking a toy. Those are sweet moments, and I do cherish Trey's. But this is so much fun! Oh how we love our boy, and oh the joy he has brought into our lives. Glory to God!

Another quick note - since Trey was born he has been, say, "overactive" in the use of his middle finger. If you've been around him, he's probably flipped you the bird at least once. At first it was just infant hand movements, but then he started using his middle finger to point and push buttons, etc. You understand why this concerns us, that if it should hang around until Trey starts school we are going to have a lot of 'splaining to do to other parents. Anyway, he has finally started using his index finger. A lot, so I hope the behavior sticks! Yay!

Now, if we could just get him to speak English. Even one word, please???
