How we spent our Christmas break
Hustle and bustle
Aden tearing it up at practice. Games start in January, and he is pumped!
Pretending to be preachers in the new youth room at church, where apparently the boys plan to have their birthday parties.
My boys, both boys, participating in the cantata.
Boys got a night at Giga and Poppop's house, where Aden managed to finish his new Lego Airport...
and Trey helped Poppop with farm chores!
The Christmas tournament a few towns over, where we got to cheer on Brandon's team.
Chillin at home
First time ever I have successfully made homemade rolled sugar cookies.
Aden's pets. They all have names and voices and with all this free time, we're playing like we've never played before.
Aden's new pet, Best Friend Max. Love at first sight for this boy who so desperately wants a dog.
Kitchen all ready to welcome family for our big Christmas meal. I love the clean, the fancy-for-us feeling, the quiet of Christmas Eve night.
I got a coloring book for Christmas (thanks Mom!). And it is as wonderful as I remember coloring to be. Been spending time with all my gifts - reading, pampering my feet, enjoying every moment of relative stress-free-ness.
Of course, with the airport built, we had to put together every single one of Aden's other Lego airplanes and helicopters to go with it.
Trey working at his first ever paying job, tagging game film for his Daddy.
Trey tried out his new woodworking kit, then painted the coin bank he built.
Aden cautiously tried out his new bike ramps. Breathe easy now, for caution never lasts.
Fighting the British with their bb guns, which is what a November full of Revolutionary War history will get you.
Celebrations with family
Partial Robertson get-together, first for us in three years! Trey and Aden got along with Will and Caroline as if they'd been together all along.
Spending time with Meemaw Gloria.
Gifts from Mom and Dad on Christmas morning.
Then a little surprise gift for Dad - ugly socks!
Love, love, love these memories with Nana and Granddad, and Giga and Poppop.
A very merry Christmas!
