Four months

Ohhhh my little chunky monkey...

Four months ago Aden came to join our family, a tiny little thing with a head full of dark hair. Today Aden is a rolly-polly, sixteen-and-a-half-pound hoss with fuzzy blond hair.

I consider it odd that we have two boys who look absolutely nothing like they did when they were born. Special prize for whoever can explain that one.

Aden is a great baby. He does well when not being held - likely out of necessity - but does love to be held and walked around. He is happy to get direct attention from pretty much anybody, but particularly Trey and that very handsome little chunk he sees in the mirror every now and again.

He talks a lot, when there is space to do so, and has started getting very loud in parts of his conversations. He squeals and giggles, but no belly laughs yet. He even sings sometimes when Brandon plays the guitar.

Aden eats. Can you tell? We upped the size of his bottles, but he still demands to eat at least 7 times a day. And pouts at the end of each bottle, until we distract him. In the doctor's words, "It's just ridiculous for a baby to have that much milk." So rice cereal, here we come!

Aden did manage to roll over front-to-back and back-to-front one time each a couple of weeks ago, neither of which pleased him too much, so he hasn't really been too interested in working on that. He has instead chosen to focus on the all-important skill of holding his own bottle.

You gotta have priorities.

Eczema is still pretty bad, and that mean old clogged tear duct gets pretty goopy sometimes. Otherwise, the kid is in perfect health. Solid as a rock.

He has gotten fairly good at grasping toys, but seems to prefer messing with his burp cloth. Not sure if he's teething, but we have a lot of drool happening, and he is trying to put everything in his mouth. So we'll see.

Aden is working on his legs, and is able to support his weight standing for several seconds at a time. No lie here - the kid is trying to walk. I was helping Aden stand up the other night, and he just started picking up one leg at a time and moving forward.

Somewhere deep down, he just knows. He's going to have to start running soon. Both to keep up with Trey, and to get away from him. Ah, brotherly love.

Aden loves music, his mobile at Nana's house, his changing table, fuzzy jammies, splashing in the bath, sitting upright, and his Daddy.

And we love our sweet baby boy!
