September smiles
Taking good pictures these days is hard. Trey is a very active child, almost always running around or squirming. Plus he's developing more of a mind of his own, and the same thing no longer makes him smile time and time again. Trey likes the camera, always has. He knows what to do but is often not patient enough for the focus and the flash. So a lot of shots are blurred or of the back of his head as he runs away to find something more entertaining.
Brandon says to me last night, "You're a photographer by volume, aren't you?" True that. One out of every, say, 15-20 is bound to be good.
But this also scares me a little bit. Sometime before the end of the year, maybe more than once, we're either going to need to take some good, quality, formal-esque snapshots, or have professional portraits done. I'm not sure if my snapshots can be formal-esque anymore, given the reasons above. But I'd hate to pay a wad of cash for professional portraits, and every time they get him situated on the backdrop he cries and runs to me. Any suggestions??
But as for my volume photography, I praise the Lord for these 5% - what an adorable boy we have!

I didn't bother to edit this one, as it is pure joy on its own. Who knows what in the world was going through his mind, but one day after Trey finished lunch, he just started cracking up. And it was priceless. Look at those teeth. Oh he's so grown up.

And just in case anyone gets the idea that it's always hunky-dory at our house, here's Trey during a tantrum. We ride the emotional roller coaster just like any other family with a one-year-old. But what an incredible ride it is!

JCPenneys has a good photographer here, and a lot of times you can get pretty good coupons off the web or in the mail...and you can get Christmas cards, etc... But, things to consider: 1. it all depends on the photographer...you can go anywhere, but the photographer has to be good 2.if he won't sit still at home, he may not sit still for very long in the studio either....but a good photographer will have a few tricks to win a few good still seconds of time:) 3. Call way in advance and don't feel bad about requesting the most experienced photographer on staff...people used to do that to us a lot, and we would honor their request. That way you know you are not getting a newbie.
